The Journey of a Minber Timepiece: From Inspiration to Creation
Every classic timepiece begins with a simple idea and a stroke of a pen on paper. In this image, you will see the earliest form of one of Minber's watch models. This is not merely a sketch; it is the culmination of months of conception—the first meeting point of functionality and aesthetics.
Our designers draw inspiration from the vast, mysterious outer space and the cosmos—such as the internal mechanics of spaceships and starships—as well as from the architecture of Tadao Ando, including minimalist geometric forms, light and shadow, spatial sequences, negative space, and sapphire glass. They transform abstract concepts into precise lines. This process remains the same even for custom orders. Minber focuses on the entire journey of watch creation, starting from the germination of an idea to the sketching phase. From the very beginning, our design and engineering teams work closely, ensuring technical feasibility while deepening the aesthetic expression, all while respecting the client's vision.
We pay particular attention to the design of the case and the internal structure and layering of the dial, striving to create a unique microcosm on the wrist. Take, for example, our recently designed model "Crystal Pavilion" (Model 9027). Its inspiration comes from micro-architecture: the transparent case resembles a glass curtain wall, while the skeletonized movement symbolizes the internal steel structure.
Meanwhile, the "Stellar Voyage" (Model 9052) watch features the azure sphere of Earth as its visual center. The circular structure surrounding the Earth mimics the orbit of a mechanical space capsule. When night falls, the Earth and its luminous orbit glow brilliantly, evoking the observation of celestial trajectories. In wearing this watch, one does not merely tell time but explores a personal universe.
Once the design blueprint is finalized, it is followed by a long and meticulous production process. Minber's precision manufacturing team brings the concept to life: from digital modeling, case forging, and delicate dial finishing, to the precise assembly, adjustment, and repeated testing of the movement. Every step is carried out under a stringent quality control system, ensuring that each timepiece not only delivers reliable performance but also fully realizes the shared vision of Minber and the customer.
